Well I write because I have a story to tell. Basically the muses that voice their opinion in my head will let me know what I need to let others know. Plus I always seem to come up with ideas for stories with topics that are unlike some that you normally read about. But that's what I like, I love different story line's and most of what I write about is completely different. I always use the same type of characters, which are black full figured women and white strong men. But my characters show their emotions, which isn't the norm especially with the men when they are showing their 'true emotions' towards the woman they love. 2. What is Contemporary Poetry? Cotemporary poets adapt the ancient forms of verse to create a revolutionary piece of verbal art.   Authors are always trying new combinations of line length, interesting formats, and unique rhyming schemes to create these innovated poems. Thus, the evolution of contemporary poetry is never stagnant, it is always moving towards something new.             Rhyme doesn’t seem to be part of contemporary poetry; however it’s only full rhymes that aren’t part of modern poems. Poets tend to shy away from them because ‘it can be both stale and predictable’ (Keane, pg. 2). They’re predictable because poets have used them for 1000’s of years. According to Ezra Pound rhymes ‘must have in it some slight element of surprise’; which half-rhymes do because the rhyme is unexpected. Half-rhymes create movement and joins the stanzas together. The other day, after watching a Merlin fan video on Youtube, I read through the comments. A few people were talking about how Merlin changed their life. There was such respect and awe for this program.
